Power of Attorney
Attorney Risa Quinn Feldbusch has successfully
prepared Powers of Attorney and other related
documents for clients since 1982.
The purpose of a General Durable Power of Attorney
is to give a client (the principal) the ability to have
another person of his choosing handle all real and
personal property matters which he would otherwise
do for himself. This power is generally given to a
person for health reasons or for convenience should he
be out of the country for an extended period of time. It
should not be given lightly as decisions made by the
designated person (the attorney in fact) are binding on
the client (the principal).
A simpler and more often used power of attorney is the
Limited Power of Attorney. It is used to give a client
(the principal) the ability to have another person of his
choosing handle specific matters he would otherwise
do for himself.
This Limited Power of Attorney may be used to grant
decision making over real and personal property
matters, medical matters even "school custody"
matters for his children when the client is out of the
area, and may be made for a limited period of time.
